not sure if this is in the right section if not please move to the right one
i noticed a few weeks ago that my driver side headlight isnt as flush as it should be after looking at other 2b's when i came to adjust the head light today ive noticed that the slam pannel is out of line and so is the other headlight and the bonnet, now i havent crashed the car... so its been sold to me in this state from a fiat dealership... its cat c style dammage looking at it.. ive phoned the dealer and kicked off big time .. the gm has said they will look the car over and that this dammage should of been rectified before the car was picked up.. now what entitlements am i gonna get.. as i don't really want the car after this.. can i claim another car off them if not should i threaten with trading standards

if the HPI comes back clear though it dosent mean a thing tbh.. the eveidence is there tbf, also theres paint on the head light
where the bolts screw in... give away i think or the fact that the head light will sit flush when its out of line with the scuttle pannel

okay been look at another 2b its just the drivers side lamp is a bit more inset than it should be, HPI has come back clear.. its deffo had a bump at some point just looks like its been a corner knock and not been repaired propely its not as major has i originally thought, im just a worry wort tbf, after all said and done the cars 5 years old

Its not there fault so i dont see how you can claim a car off them. They havent dont anything wrong, they dont have to tell you about the history of the car its up to you to ask about it. If you didnt look and notice that when you bought it its down to you not them and trading standards wont be intrested. Only way you will be able to get trading standard involved is if its been in some major accident and you have it checked out and its deemed to be unsafe to be on the road. Then i think you can get them done for selling a car that is not fit for purpose.

its cat c style dammage looking at it..

What is Cat C damage looking at it  ;) :)
You certainly can't tell!!
Its down to the car being slightly less economical to repair than a Cat D and still it's in the hands of a qualified insurance assessor.

When a car is written off it is classed as Cat C or as a Cat D if the car is salvagable.
It certainly is not a CAT C, if it was then on the front of your Logbook under the special notes section It would say that the car was an insurance write off.
This is because after a Cat C vehicle is repaired a Log book can't be obtained until a Vehicle Identification Check is carried out. When it is re-issued, it is marked.

A Cat D is not recorded on the log book but will show up if you do an HPI check on it.

Here is The cold hard truth. 1 in 3 cars on the road have been in an accident.
The chances are that a lot of people will be driving cars that have been in an accident.

A car is written off when the damage is two thirds the vehicles value. meaning on a new car you could have thousands of pounds worth of damage
and yet the car won't be written off and not recorded in any way. Most newish cars will have anything from minor spray work to rear quarters, wings, doors etc. replaced. yet if the cars were a few years older then they would have been written off. I just bought a 2000 reg pre mint Punto mk2 JTD for £500 and cost me £150 to repair.

Truth is, a lot of insurance bodyshops are no better than back street spray garages some are superb but a lot are poor due to time restrictions etc.

As above, it is not the dealers fault.
