Hey, ive been looking around my car to find the colour code.. all i can see is NERO B/B, 601, DELTRON LACRI and was wondering if this was right? I have a 1999 Fiat Punto S60. If its not the right code where do i find it to?

Is it the last of the Mrk 1 then you have found it, if early mrk 2 as said above(y)

what colour is your car?
i can check it for you to see it is right, as i got colour formula software in my pc, when i check 601, it show black, but the year seen a bit too old for your car, check the boot, pick up the boot lining have a look inside.

Well the date of registration is 30 01 1999, pretty sure thats a mk 1 rite?

And yeh its black.. on the site im trying 2 order the paint from theres a 601/F? would that be it?

yes i just check it with my car, it got the same colour code 601 black,
order online? i am sure you can get some paint from your local paint supplier at a cheap price, even halford sell paint, since the colour it only one black, don't even need mix with any other colour, also they can check the paint colour there and than with you, look in yellow page, you will able to find them, how big the paint work you are looking to do? for a full respary a car, you will need about 1.5lt, and for black, will be alot easyer to cover.

Thanks alot mate, ive got a halfords across the road from me, do they do it in tins? or spray cans? And what type of paint is it? Cellulose? 2pack?Well ive just got a bodykit for it so just the front, side n rear bumpers.. half a litre shud do shudnt it?

It will be single pack which uses a seperate lacquer.
2pack is mixed hence can't technically come in tins.

black is relatively easy to match. You will need plastic primer. ideally a 2k lacquer will give you a better shine but you should be ok. Ebay apparently have sellers selling 2k lacquer in tins although i don't understand how. It might be a good compromise though.

how big are the bumpers??

hi
the paint can come in both, spary can or in tin, and more likely be solvent, you will need to thin it down by 2k thinner, if you going to buy in tin and sparying by spary gun, will a lot easyer by spary can.
halfords sell 2k lacquer in spary can, and the finish are good, i see my friend lacquer he alloy with it.
please make sure when you are sparying, you must ware spary mask, and got good air movement in the room you going to spary in.

I have not seen or used these 2k tins:confused:

Can someone tell me how they do it.

I use 2k lacquer as a paint sprayer and 2k refers to the paint being mixed before spraying its a 2 part system paint hence 2k
It is mixed 2 parts paint to 1 part hardener. once mixed the paint goes hard within hours. Infact you could immerse it in thinners and it would still go hard it goes like a rubber once fully cured.

1k is not mixed with a second hardener and thus can be stored and sprayed in tins.

My brain hurts :)
