Hi,

Hope someone can help.... I've only just noticed that someone has tried to get into my car via the lock on the driver door... (see image)

no idea why they didnt break in, or where and how its been done!

as you can imagine im not impressed! however, how on earth do i go about fixing it?

someone please help

p.s. model of car is an 04 punto sporting 1.4

It isn't really a (do it yourself) job. I recommend that you find a good local independant bodyshop to give you a quote. If you wanted for a short period to hide the damage then maybe

Hi, You may also need to replace the lock assy. It was EUR 25 ( about £17 ) to fix on our '00 Punto. The bent metal tapped out flat. The black plastic lever part is usually broken in the attempt to unlock the car. I have seen this done on Fords as well. Since the car manufacturers made it difficult to open the lock via the window rubber due to better lock shielding, the thieves often just bang a screwdriver through the door skin to activate the lock.
