what you mean gas  some need to have oil put in before use

silly me lol i meant oil...i was very ill and tired when i wrote that lol

i meant what oil to put in.

like i said, i know nothing about compressors, i always use other peoples, or the college's

did you get a manual? if not search for one online

well like i said, it didnt have a manual, i got it really cheap though, its a 50lt, 2hp, and i only paid £50 for it so im not gona complain, plus the guy chucked in a welder for £25...thats enough to start me off. i did a google search for the brand and nothing came up. where else could i search?

For the compressor there isnt a lot to it..

it should have come pre filled with oil (there is an clear optic with a small O on the case when its level the oil should be upto that mark..)

theres a small round pre filter on the side check thats fitted ( i coated the element in light oil to hold dirt (but i am not intending to do any spraying with it)

if its new you need to "run it in" undo the drain valve on the base of the tank (ear protection if its up to pressure) and unscrew fully (let the tank drain first now start it up and run it for 30 mins in intervals of 15 mins let it cool then run it again (pull up on the red button to start it) By removing the drain plug it wont get any pressure but will bed the piston in)

drain the oil by removing the red oil cap and pour out then refill as dave said most tool shops/ motorfactors stock it (although mines running fine on synthetic engine oil  (was only a cheap tool))

the connecting branch is 2 way one is regulated (left IIRC there is a black knob to adjust the outlet pressure) and the other is at tank pressure..

hope that helps..

I have just bought a new tooltec compressor, although the manual is a bit vague for somebody like me, who does not have a lot of experience with an item like this
i have put it together (wheels and feet on and screwed in the air filter (side) and oil sump plug, i have filled it with compressor oil, apart from running it in as suggested, is there anything else i should do

IF i can find the book i will scan it for you...

Hi Andy, Did you find the book for the Tooltec compressor? I've looked all over on the web but can't find one.
Mine doesn't seem to have the clear optic with a small O on the case which you mentioned in an earlier post, so not sure how much oil to re fill with.
thanks in advance.
