Just Crashed

Just Crashed

The one wing was replaced the other was bent back into shape

Doesn’t look much but most of the damage was under the bonnet, like the cross member one inner wing both headlamps and the screw thing for the tow ring thingy.

Update: Went to Fiat today to pick the new relays up and new fusebox casing up, plugged the new relays into the fusebox and the engine fired up first time. :slayer:

The new body panels that I ordered (bonnet, bonnet hinges, front upper panel, passenger side front wing and abarth front bumper) should be here today or tomorrow so I will have a go at fitting them on Saturday. Do you think the bonnet and wing etc will line up properly if I just bolt them on or will I need to do something else?

Haven't got round to fitting the new fusebox casing yet, will probably have a stab at that on Saturday when I'm fitting the new body panels.

Once I've fitted these parts, all I'll need to do is source a new passenger side light cluster (still not sure which type to get) and then bring the car into a bodyshop to have the inner wing beaten back into shape and then the new parts sprayed. (y)

I dont think the parts will line up to well i=with the inner wing being bent to be honest, be careful when you fit the new parts because if they dont line up correctly you could end up doing some damage to them.

Nice one, well done!! I thought it would probably be the ECU relay that was stopping it from starting!

You will probably have to do some bashing to get things to line up properly. I would try and bend the inner wing back into shape as best as possible just to help with lining everything up. Best way to do it is to line everything up by eye before bolting it all down. When putting on the wing, there is quite a lot of adjustment in the nuts so should give you a fair bit of movement if you need it. Do the nuts up loosley, then close the bonnet and get the gap with the wing correct and also with the door. Then carefully open the bonnet without touching the wing and tighten up the bolts at the top of the wing.
the slam panel should line up with the bolts on either side of the wing, and on the front cross member. If the end of the cross member is slightly bent, you may need to give it a few whacks with a sledge hammer or similar.

Keep us updated!

**** my bad lol i didnt check the date lol :p:eek:

Erm this is nearly 2 months old, afaik his car is back on the road...

:yeahthat:

Well sort of, car is in the bodyshop now and will be ready at the end of the week, in the end it had a new inner wing welded on, the old one was pushed down too fair to straighten out.

I've got a courtesy car atm so it's not too bad, can't wait to get the JTD back though. :D

Got the car back from the body shop on Friday, finally got round to taking some pics of it today. Pics were just quickly taken on my camera phone so they're not the best. I'll get some proper pics up when I've given it a good wash and polish.

looks v. nice, need abarth side skirts and rear now ;),

and in reply to lee, look on ebay or onlineautomotive.co.uk, or any bodystyling sites if you wanna stray from standard

was gonna ask you if it was lowered or not, it looks it, doesn't look that high at all, you could fit a bus through my front arch gap

I'm pretty sure the JTD shares the suspension with the HGT so it's the same height as a HGT, it still needs to go lower though, the angle of those pics makes it look lower than it really is. :)

Hi mate,

heres the relay layout with the ones i can see from the phot you need. If there are any others just let me know and ill tell you what they are.
