Hi, I read on the forum that people found Halford's gloss black better than their 'Fiat Black' thing is I tried it and the colours really REALLY don't match up, and it is pissing me off. I have sprayed whole cars in metallic colour, but this black stuff is pissing me off, I wish I had my compressor and spray gun to do it but just recently moved to the UK (1 year now) and don't afford the proper tools, nor do I have the cash to waste on stupid spray cans like of halfords...

Any suggestions? Should I try their 'Fiat black' ?

I read about some other brand but have no idea where I might find it.

Also inside my car boot it says 601/F On the net I found references to 601, but what does the F mean?

check out www.autopaintinternational.com and check the store list option to see if there is a branch near you. I get all my tinned auto paint from them but they can also colour match the paint from your car and put it in an aerosol if you need it that way. bear in mind that if your painting a whole panel then you should really blend it into the panels next to it to get a perfect indistinguishable match if they have just mixed it from the code, because the colour on your car would have changed slightly over the years due to sun etc and may have faded.
but if you take the car they should be able to match it near perfectly.
For every colour code they have, they normally have 3 or 4 shades either way (lighter/darker) to allow for colour change.
