Someone keyed my car leaving a lovely scratch running from jst under the wing mirror to the back quarter panel. Any advice? Already tried t-cut, scratch remover, and cutting compound (which was disasterous as it blew a deep part of the scratch open a bit more than it was).

Any recomendations for someone that can do it in Essex?? Preferable Chelsmford?? Or any other way of doing it myself?

Thanks in advance.

there are 2 options:

1. avoid making enemies unless it is absolutely neccessary

2. give ultraviolence to your enemies so everyone is scared to go near your car

i prefer to do both.

as for the scratch, get quotes at local bodyshops, and do not pay until the job has been done to an acceptable standard.

Yeh will visit a few bodyshops, got a few quotes last night, chipsaway are saying between £300 and £400 as a rough estimate over the phone, and went into halfords and their service is £130 for approx. 6 inchs of scratch repair, well thats according to the guy behind the service desk reading off some little booklet.

Will get more quotes from independant places soon. Or might just try a touch up pen for now see how that turns out?

Lol at the making enemies bit. Dont really know anyone in the area that i was parked in. Got home late and woke up the next morning to realise i had a nice scratch. Apparently a few other cars got kicked or something the same night it happened. So just presuming it was the same people. Dont know who though.

Id avoid chips away and anyone who turns up in a van and sprays bits of your car outside, they only paint the scratch and a small area around it, and although it may look ok to you, it wont for long as it will sink and fade, and after a while you will see the area will go dull, CRAAP!!! whereas a proper bodyshop will paint the whole panel for the same price, there a bunch of failed painters and decorators near me called CAR CARE!! who wear nice purple outfits and you want to see the crrap work they turn out i wouldnt let them paint my garden shed! go to a local reputable bodyshop in your area and ask for a quote and an example of his work, It roughly works out at about £100 a panel to paint and any repairs and materials on top id say about £300ish + the twwat!! good luck Ant!
