"Loop off" works...

must have picked up a command as "Loop on" sometime.

Sorry for my stupidity but how do you select the loop off option?

I've opened up the USB flash memory stick on "my computer" but can't seem to find the option anywhere

Just ordered new 500 with B&M. Anyone tried a samsungE900 on it yet as it is not on the list of compatible phones?
Cheers.

PS - I also meant to ask -
Several posts refer to converting the files on your ipod from aac to mp3 in order to use B&M.
Can anyone give me a bit of guidance how to do this as I can only find an option to convert them the other way? I note you can buy software to convert aac to mp3 is this necessary?
Thanks.

uninstall message reader

Anyone knows how can I uninstall the message reader?
There is no Greek version for the message reader and it's useless :(.

in the car.. 'windows' button then say "loop off" - the car will confirm.

Sorry to sound stupid and bother you with my silly questions but...

I pressed the Windows button and the woman said "voice" or something like that ,and I was shouting "loop" but nothing happened :(
I then shouted "Help" but it didnt work :(

Don't shout! Talk normally. Make sure no one else in the car is talking at the same time.

Try being nice to her, buy her some flower, a nice meal & a bit of foreplat might help, she is a bit moody.

Re: uninstall message reader

:shrug:is there any chance that the ipod questions can be put into the ipod section of this tech forum as I am reaaly struggling to find the info I need amongst all the unrelated stuff?

I can't use my ipod in my car it just plays one podcast over & over again aaaarghhhhh!!:bang:

I am a total computer numpty & have looked on here & tried to convert my tunes to Mp3 (as I think as suggested?) but it says that they are all protected ??

What do I do now? I have this great car & a great mp3 player & can't use them together
I am very frustrated, why didn't fiat make this compatible? I really don't understand what is going on here, sorry for the rant.

Gill,

I don't think that protected AAC's will convert to mp3 as the AAC format enables itunes to put DRM (digital rights manangement) into the track if you buy it off itunes (a good reason not to buy off itunes). There may be some software that can do it, but not standard.
As far as I have sussed (don't have car with B&M yet) -
music needs to be -
synced to a pc if on an ipod (not a mac)
mp3, wma or wav
not more than kbps
not DRM.
You could download mp3 versions of the music you have already got from limewire?
Regards,
Paul.

Re: uninstall message reader

Gill, burn your AAC tunes to CD, then rip them back off the CD but as MP3s. The copy protection will be lost when you rip them off the CD. I don't use iTunes but it should be capable of ripping from CD but not sure if it will do it as MP3. Otherwise there are many other programs that can rip from CD such as Windows Media Player, Real Player, etc.

Ipod support

Hi Waspy/Gill - Yes, I just asked the Moderator to open up this thread, so that posts on this subject aren't scattered all over the forum.

But as far as I can tell, the worlds most popular Mp3-player is not properly supported by this by this sad piece of soft/hardware. I read that it took the development team 7 years to reach this goal. :bang:

Just bought a 500 ... super cool car! But the ****ty Blue&Me support for iPod is just overwhelmingly disapointing.

We have to be pray for a fast upgrade - or maximize pressure on FIAT. The latter can be achieved by writing a lot on the subject on every occasion that comes.

Kind regards, Pino

Re: Ipod support

Pino, it's a lot cheaper to change your mp3 player than your car. ;-) Or just copy your tunes on to a USB stick. That's what I've done and I leave the stick plugged in all the time - it's so small and its colour blends in with the car so thieves can't see it. 4Gb sticks are dirt cheap (£10 / $20) and 16Gb ones are down to £40 now. Then you can leave your ipod in your bag, jacket or at home. I know it's not what you want but there's no proper ipod solution and it doesn't look like there's going to be any time soon, or ever.

Re: Ipod support

IVe got a 5th gen ipod video, Doesnt seem to want to work in my GPS even though it is PC formatted and all tracks are MP3. Does having the ipod set up for disc use affect it at all as this is how mine is set up. I have turned the disc use off so will try tomorrow to see if it works or not....

If not then standard HU is coming out and my alpine stuff is going in so i have full ipod control off that.

Don't know if this helps but if you have downloaded files from iTunes, they are automatially in AAC format and cannot be converted to mp3. If you have copied CDs in iTunes in AAC format, you can convert them to mp3 from your library and then sync your ipod again. I did this and then plugged in my iPod (iPod with Video) into the Blue and Me in my GP and it picked it up.

Wondering if anyone could help - have scanned through posts but couldn't see anyone with the same problem....

I have some CDs copied onto my iPod which have tracks that play continuously with no gaps betweeen songs. The settings on iTunes are correct and when I play the tracks on iTunes direct from the iPod, they play continuously. However, when the device is connected to Blue and Me, the tracks are all mixed up, even on regular albums. The tracks never play in the order stated on the CD track listing.

Thanks!
