Unplug your mp3 form the usb port and remove the neg from the battery for five mins.

Re-connect battery and do not plug anything into the usb port.

Does the controls work now? I had a HD which would cause the dash to flash and turn off the steering wheel controls. The only way to cure it was to do the above, oh and get a usb stick lol.

The External volume should have nothing to do with the actual volume of the stereo. It should just set the volume of the womans voice during voice commands, etc.

I've also found that the external volume can refer to music players connected to the USB port.

I have a problem as a comfortable volume for the MP3 player is about 8 but the radio needs to be on about 14. This can result in being deafened when switching between the two.

Does anyone else find that when they have an MP3 player connected it ALWAYS starts playing as soon as the engine is switched on - regardless of whether you'd previously been listening to the radio or had the stereo off? I've turned off the Autoplay function but it makes no difference.

I dont really notice the volume because i tend to listen to my music at 15 anyway through my memory stick.

With regards to it defaulting to the USB port everytime you turn the ignition, this is true. If you flick the ignition to MAR then it will play the radio, CD, etc but when you actually start the car the USB port powers up and takes over.

Yeah what they have said sounds right, it needs an update by the sounds of things.

Your N93 could go either way, i would imagine you will be ok though.

thanks Rich, thought I might be at the whim of the dealer - i'll see if i can connect to the b&m box to install linux on there, that'll make the blighter work!

I'll keep you all posted as to the success of the N93.

cheers

The external volume definitely affects the media player. Last night I double checked the volume. External is still set to 17, and each time I turned off the engine, I made sure I had used the steering wheel controls to set it down to 5. It was back at 17 when I turned on again. I think however, if you only turn the key to MAR, it remembers the 5 setting. (Not a lot of use really). So I still have the original problem - if I have the external volume set to 5, which is comfortable, I cannot hear anything said through the SMS reader, or in fact anything by the woman's voice.

Update Blue&Me

How do I see the version of my Blue&Me? and how do I know if there is any update for the system?

Re: Update Blue&Me

I have no idea how you can check the version of Blue&Me. But I know for sure that there are updates out there, because people are talking about it over the grandepuntoclub.com forum. Unfortunately, the automatic update via the phone internet connection still doesn't work. Blue&Me activates the internet connection on my phone, but after long minutes it always gives a server error connection (so the update servers are not ready yet). It silly that more than a year after Blue&Me has been introduced, this function is still not working. Moreover the service guys here in Hungary have no idea about Blue&Me update CD-s (which I'm sure they have received just like every other Fiat service).

Hi all,

I've been looking at some punto sportings and have noticed that some of the earlier models don't appear to have the full blue and me system.

One garage has two diesel sportings, 06 and 56. The 56 has a windows button on the steering wheel and the mp3 icon on the radio where the 06 doesn't.

Am i right in saying that not all sportings have blue and me and if so, what's the major differences between the two.

My missus wants the full blue and me system so it looks like the 06 (cheaper option) is out. :p

Thanks in advance,
Rob.

Early models doesn't have Blue&Me, just an optinal integrated bluetooth kit (called Convergence Kit or something like that). It's competely different than Blue&Me. It handles phones only, cannot play music files. It has basic functions.

Well, I finally got, at least, somewhere.

I've had my proxies aligned today (ouch) and the flashing mileage is now steadily on :) and the "win" and "main" keys do something! success I hear you say - well not quite.

When I press the said keys all it says on the dash is "NO ENGLISH" and nothing seems to work - just as before.

So, some progress, but still no B&M for me :(

Ideas, suggestions?

Cheers

Has anyone tried using a Sony NWA3000 for the media player function?

Could someone please tell me if and how my Ipod Nano 2gb will work in a grande punto with Blue and Me. do i just plug the usb cable i use with the computer, into the car and the car automatically recognises it

Hi Parry,

Yes - you should just be able to plug it in and the system will download the media library.

However, none of the iPod functionality will work - B&M just treats it as a hard disk. You should be able to play tracks at random and select by artist / album. It won't pick up your playlists though and in most cases is likely to play albums tracks in alphanumeric order.

You may prefer to copy the tracks onto a cheap USB stick which you can permanently keep in the car as this will work just as well.

Good luck.
