Help guys!!!!

Going to possibly buy a 2014 Doblo Maxi.

Been told buy the guy that’s selling it that the Mileage flashes, he told it to be diagnosed and was told the Blue&Me module is “offline” that a new module is £640 so he never bothered with it.

He said it doesn’t affect the van in any other way.

Should I be concerned?

Thanks

Hi,
As far as I know the BM module can be disconnected if faulty using mesecumultiscan and this should stop the flashing mileage but the fact you are told it is OFFLINE makes no sense to me.

Does anything work on the BlueMe like voice or steering wheel controls. If nothing then yes likely it is faulty module.

Used ones are available a lot cheaper from a breakers if you search around. That said if there is some BlueMe functions working then the flashing mileage may be something else.......

If you are not bothered about the BlueMe functions then just have the module disconnected and then removed using the diagnostic MES.

We use the Blueandme all the time now integrated with phone, sat nav and ipod. It is actually better in my opinion than our Range Rover which screen and switch control on touch screen is just a pain constntly having to look down to perform general car controls.

OK the TomTom sat nav screen is smaller but positioned well for glancing across to.

Hi

The stereo buttons on the steering wheel work.

It’s just the Bluetooth button that don’t work and the connect.

Plus the mileage flashes

You have the classic symptoms of a faulty B&M unit.
You can try to do a proxy alignment before starting searching for another module.

Hi,

First have you done the disconnect battery and reconnect after a couple of hours.

2nd just check the USB module looks clean I have had some where drinks have been spilt and full of damp crumbs but not sure where yours is located.

3rd locate the BM module and see if it has had the connector removed. If not remove the connector and make sure connections look clean and then replace.

Get someone to hook the vehicle up to MES and do a proxy alignment some members will lend you the equipment and some super members will do it for you free if nearby. Avoid a main dealer as silly money........all this should at least result in stopping the flashing mileage as if a faulty disconnected BM module which I agree is possible you can isolate it.

If you want the BM system functioning ..You should have the later BM module at 2014 so be cautious if looking for a used one to check compatible, usually used ones from breakers can be found for circa £100+

We have experienced all these problems when installing and updating the latest TomTom2 Blue and Me sat navs to older vehicles's but only had to ever replace one burnt out BlueMe module so far and one vehicle where it was missing

Hi

I’ve tried disconnecting the Neg but only for 5 minutes. Pressed down on the brake pedal. Tried it again with the ignition on. Didn’t do anything.

Would you suggest leaving it disconnected for longer?

I’m going to have a look at the USB socket tomorrow, it’s down by the handbrake mechanism.

Do you know where the blue&me is on a Doblo Van 2014?

Also do you know anyone local to Kent that can do a Proxi alignment?

Thanks

Hi,

5 minutes is too quick....some say go make a coffee but a large american one and sip it

Honestly when we do parasitic drain test it can take over an hour for some of the electronic modules to power down.

There are 2 other forums specific to what you ask.....firstly go on the MES forum as there is a whole list all over the country who has the equipment and where they are located.

Also go onto the specific Doblo forum and ask where the BM module is as some are at back and others under footwell, The one we replaced on a 500 was inside the rear above left side wheel and had a lot of water running over it as a leak in the top roof seam......

Yes another great place to put a socket like on 500 right next to cup holder in centre console............just where the drinks splash over and the crumbs fall.....I want some USB's near the rear view mirror at the top please car makers and yes Fiat missed a big trick with their phone holder for the dash 68r slot......why it did not have an internal powered USB included amases me as there is a power source for the Cradle supply in the 68r dash slot for when a tomtom is used.......and the cheek to charge same as a CRATT cradle £80 when the phone mount has no inner electronics and just plastic parts.:cry:

Hi

The battery is currently disconnected.

I’ve asked about the Blue&Me location but have had no replies as yet.

I’ve noticed a couple of white plastic plug type sockets things under the drivers seat. One plug has a wire going to the base of the seat and the other plug has nothing connected to it.

Is this anything?

The usb thing by the handbrake had a load of black tape around the wires, is this normal or has it been tampered with?

Hi, Sorry I can't help you specifically with the location on a 2014 doblo......I have had them in the back of the car and in the front under the glovebox on others..so possibly in a van under the seat would be an option.

I would google it and see if you can find a parts manual as we use these on a lot of our cars and find invaluable with more info than any service manual.

Also regards the Blue Me issues or any Blue Me issues again explore other forums as there is a wealth of other cars had same problem and I do a lot of Alfas so a lot of info on the Alfa site and the other Fiat sites........

As an example check this link http://www.teamfiat.com/threads/blu...-how-to-clean-the-unit-to-make-it-work.11790/

Similar problems to yours and explains how simple and cheap some fixes can be......................well if you can find the damn thing and not like on the Fiat 500 have to strip out most of the back end trim to get to it only to find it is all riveted in place......................

Surely someone will come back even if you have to ring a main dealer for advice on location...................just don't ask them how it works:D

If you read all the posts in the link you will come to https://www.revtronic.com/product/fiat-blue-and-me-repair-service/ who do repairs to the BlueMe modules.......they also do removal and installation so should know where yours is.............telephone 01274 428200
