Help!! Newbie struggling with blue and me

Hi,

I don't think it is correct to say that Gen 1 software cannot be updated to 2nd Gen or V10.

You may be correct in that some earlier BM modules fitted to some earlier cars with generation 1 software cannot be updated but this is a module identification split on the serial number level.

Our daughters own car is a 500 2010 and came with a Magneti Marelli MAP sat nav and everyone said the same thing it could not be updated to take a tomtom2 which requires 2nd gen software as it was early gen 1 software. Even talking with Fiat and many dealers we were just told it was not possible.

Hacky my specialist 'scam buster' set about it and the car now is 2nd gen and runs a TomTom2 the Magneti Marelli useless antiquated MAP sat nav binned.

Hacky has now helped others Fiat and Alfa owners all over the world update so I suggest it maybe a BM module serial number level that limits the update but as of yet we have not done any cars earlier than 2010 and only failures have been when BM modules have been found faulty or disconnected but as said looking at the BMConfig file if it does not show a BDAddress code line then we know the car will not accept any updates..

From my undestanding, gen1 and gen2 refer to hardware and not to software.
I can't find another example online of someone that's managed to update gen1 HW with a version higher then 5.6.
Probably your 500 had gen2 HW.
There is also an old relative snippet from B&M site that I have found:

Hi,

You may be right but on the blueme website they refer to generation in a software aspect, no one here is a car specialist just software design, but we read on the BlueMe site when looking to update our cars software for the TomTom2 that it needed Generation 2 V10. To check this it states to scroll through the menu on the car and if no IMAGE ID is found then it is Generation 1..........as we had no IMAGE ID come up on the cluster menu we proceeded with the software updates with a bit of software manipulation that Hacky discovered would let the cars software be tricked to recognise the change from the Magneti MarelliMAP to a TomTom2.

We now have IMAGE ID showing in the cluster and a working TomTom2 and have followed exactly the same procedure now on many cars successfully.

Maybe it would be clearer if the instructions said you would need 2nd generation hardware ''AND'' V10 software with a code modification to install a TomTom2 but there is no instructions or help from Fiat or the Blueanme website who just said on our 2010 car from the factory build sheet the software could not be updated to take a TomTom2.......the blueme module fitted into the car is the original one as only 1 previous owner and we have the full service records as was a low mileage...

Bye

Hi,
Forgot to add the picture

As smoggie also currently has no IMAGE ID we will see how this proceeds to get latest software updated

Here is a snippet from their old FAQ:

Hi,

Once again I can only look at Hacky who is currently tracking a scammer moving hundreds of thousands worth of money into bitcoin crypto and he says it is all interpretation as on the official site they refer to the hardware as Model and generation as software as a I showed in the picture. That said a lot may get muddled in translation, understanding and semantics

Was the FAQ answered by a Blue and Me official or just once again someones interpretation helping.

When Hacky has stopped the transactions he says he will put a search on the site and see where 2nd generation and 1st generation appear mostly.......suppose he will have to do it alph numerical to get at all.

I am suspecting maybe and I say maybe the updated blueme module MODEL may have been able to be programmed with earlier and later generation software so maybe this is where or why our 2010 car originally had no IMAGE ID being classed then as 1st generation but was at a model level that was able to be programmed which it has now been to V8 then V9 and finally we got to V10 but still had to do a line code change in the XML file to get the module to understand we were fitting a TomTom2.

You seem a nice guy and willing to help/explain, but please, ffs, stop refering to your alter ego or something, you made me google the name to find what it's all about.
I believe you when you say that you made it to v.10 but it's certainly a non standard procedure that cannot be done with the config file upload method.
Regarding the FAQ snippet I uploaded, I don't think there's anything more to say regarding the Gen1/2 being a HW tag.

Actually a Gal.........well the last time I looked anyway......our daughters car was updated using the config file upload method as I have sent out to many others too who have been successful. Some even on this post have used exactly the same method up to just needing the XML script line changed/modified where a TomTom2 was being installed.

No need for the foul explicits that just shows a low mentality and the main reasons I prefer PM to avoid the likes of you so just PM's from now on as no time for this.

Hello,

My blue and me works when playing music through USB cable ‘media player’ but i cannot skip songs on spotify through my steering wheel. My steering wheel buttons all work but just not when i am playing through media player.

My message reader also doesnt work, even though i can make calls through my BnM.

I have a 2013 Fiat 500C. Any comments would be really useful, thanks in advance!!

PM me with an email address and I will get you through the process of updating your cars software...........2013 you will have a gen2 module but may be at V7 level and needs to start with to be updated.........I will pass your details to Hacky who gets the files downloaded from the BM site or maybe you prefer to contact Bebius
