Hi guys, I’m completely new here and have a question:

I just bought a 60 plate (manufactured in September 2010) punto evo 1.4. But I’m having issues with blue&me. I have an iPhone 11, blue&me connected to the phone fine but it seems to have not downloaded any of my contacts properly, every time I go onto my phone book using the steering controls only about five contacts come up and they all say ‘??????????’ Rather than a name or anything. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it?

hi & welcome! the blue & me system works with most iphones/pods but not all it could just be the case that your system needs an update its quite easy and worth a try before exploring other options!

you will need a decent sized memory stick formatted to fat32
follow the instructions to the line and see if that works
it may well have never been updated!!

Hi Can anyone help. My 2014 500 cult blue and me hears me and connects ok but the actual conversation comes out the phone not through the car stereo ? is it a car or phone issue do you think? I have tried disconnecting and re connecting Bluetooth but no difference

Baglady is quite right a 60's plate is likely to need an update.

......update.....oops did not notice initial post was old and Debbie had tuned into it........anyway leaving what I have written as it may help others...............................


The problem is you are just on the cusp of whether your BM module is 1st generation or 2nd generation so you may if the former not get the best results.

If 2nd generation then you can update to the latest software 2nd gen V10 but again it has to be done in stages if you are an early level.

If the early module as ours was you can only update to software level V 5.6 but still if at V5.4 will have to do it in stages.........

As we wanted to install a later TomTom2 to replace the useless MagnetiMarelliMAP my colleague did somewhat possibly illegally hack into some programs and managed to modify ours to an updated level now and we have got a tomtom2 and an iPhone11 all paired up in sync but it is not something we can offer others assistance with.

To test first whether you have 1st or 2nd gen you need to go into 'settings' using the buttons, then scroll through to 'advanced features' and look for 'IMAGEID'.......if you see IMAGEID then you have the later BMmodule and can update to 2nd Gen V10 software which was the last available when the system was changed to connect2/Uconnect in 2015.

If you want to do the updates yourself you will need to be able to access the blueandme.net website to get the initial files to read your current cars software BMConfig file.....this is referred to as stage 1

Since adobe flash player finished access to the site can be awkward unless prepared to download certain search engines or have an older PC or windows laptop that still has flash player on it.

If you PM me your email address I can send you stage 1 files but you will need a USB flash/pen drive around 2GB formatted to FAT32. It has to be FAT32 so check in the format section you are not limited to NTFS or exFat.

I will include instructions for you.................

DebbieA.......have you got an original radio in the car and when you press the left side lower windows/voice button does the car speak to you........again 2014 you may not have the latest software but should have the later module so will be able to update which again I would suggest you do as it may just be incomatibility somewhere between the phone and cars software level. There have been various patches in the software levels for different phones to function correctly
