Hi,

I had the headunit on my 1.4 Punto Sporting replaced with an aftermarket pioneer one a few weeks ago, all carried out by Halfords. It works perfectly, the only issue is that I also had a steering wheel adapter fitted so I could use my steering wheel controls for the new headunit. The issue with this is that some of the connections from the steering wheel must go to the Blue&Me box instead of the headunit, namely the call and voice command buttons. I'm looking for advice on whether it's possible/feasible to remove the Blue&Me unit altogether as I don't use it and connect these two inputs to the headunit instead of the box through the adapter; and whether that would cause any issues with the whole system by not having the blue&me unit present.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Apologies if this is already in a thread elsewhere but I couldn't find this particular topic.

Basically, no. The connections from the steering wheel for the volume and seek buttons go to the OE headunit, and the other buttons go to the B&M unit directly. Because of this, the harness adaptors were never designed to accommodate the other functions as none of them come down the wire to the OE headunit. You'll just have to stop pressing them ;)
Removing the B&M module is more hassle than it's worth, and you may as well leave it for if/when you decide to sell the car - much easier just to re-install the OE headunit again.
