hi, I have bought my 64 plate 500S from the dealership 14 weeks ago and have had numerous issues with it, the main one now is that i have been informed by fiat head office that the blue and me system this is on my car is now obsolete and therefore can not be updated, there is a massive delay when clicking on it and also every time i try to use the hands free for me to ring 'mum and dad' for explained i have to say call 'dad mum and',
Has anyone else had issues like this, or know whether it is possible to upgrade the blue and me to to the newer version (with the touch screen) and still the steering wheel buttons work, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yours being a 64 is the last year they fitted blue and me to the 500, in 2015 the 500 got an across the range facelift and update, changing the interior and fitting the new U-Connect system found in all new fiats.

You can’t add the U-Connect system to your blue and me car, they are completely different and as explained the car had the interior and dashboard changed to accommodate the newer technology.

It is obsolete in that it’s a 5 year old car and they don’t fit blue and me to newer cars, it can however be updated on the blue and me website by using a USB port, it’s possible your car already has the latest software but it won’t hurt to try and update it yourself.

I would imagine that the problem with “mum dad and” is likely due to the way your have it recorded in your phone, delete the phone from the car, change the name to only first name delete the surname and just have the first name of “mum and dad”

My Panda respods to "Call" by saying - coppy fon book. - I am totally brassed off with this stupid system. It has a mind of its own and likes to bait me!! I have tried every variation I can muster when saying Call to no avail.

If I want to ring I have to use the touch screen. Or use the dial command. So much for the hands free kit! The old car did the same, I suspect, after an update. It was fine for about 14 months.
