Uconnect apps

Im somewhat suspicious of the term 'apps' in relation to uconnect, setting how there doesn't seem to be any form of additional downloadable apps available, nore anyone creating apps for this system, I'm getting the impression the use of the term 'app' is more for fashion sake that any functionality. It would be nice though to be able to create or even download additional 'apps' for my car... Stuff like an app to switch the rear view camera on while driving forward normally, etc... I'm sure it's doable , but ventures into the realms of safety and law concerning people fiddling with screens while they are supposed to be driving. Just a thought
