I faced with the same problem.
My first problem was maybe that I tried to upload a wrong English file.
(4 file needed:
0809.cab , INSTALL , SSFT0809.V2.ARMV4I , ssft0809_FIAT_LH.V1.ARMV41 )
Also the pendrive formatting type is important. ( fat32 , and I tried the 32kbyte)
I have 2 usb port in the glove compartment. ( 2007 )
For the installation allegedly it's proposed to use the closer usb port to the driver.
1. Ignition on
2. Insert the usb, to the closer port.
3. wait ( 2-3 min )
4. you're happy that it is successfull ( the car will tell that the installation is complete, or something like that )
5. Ignition off - usb out
Also somebody told that if you remove the negative battery terminal it will help.
For mi it's not but I did it anyway.
Also even if you use the correct method, file etc. can the car say NO ENGLISH.
In this case take a few pendrive and try it.
For me the 2nd pendrive have been accepted by the car.
