I'm looking at the possibility of using a dummy mount in the 68R port. Instead of buying the Blue & Me, using a TomTom start or similar. Has anyone used the dummy mount to use a different satnav, that can be mounted on the dummy. The screen is a little deep on my Qubo, so was looking go use the mount as opposed to a screen sticker.

The 68r cradle just supplies power to the TomTom B&M2 satnav-- or to the TomTomGo1000 etc. All the dummy cradles I've seen are a clone in shape/size to the original- a bit odd if they are not really, unless they are made specifically for another satnav.

I used a B&M TomTom2 until I dropped it. I was sick of paying out non-stop for map upgrades anyway, so replaced it with a Start50. I don't miss any of the B&M functionality at all.

However, a Start will NOT fit in a 68r cradle. See the attached pic of my Start50 against the genuine cradle- it's just too big-- and that is with the cradle clicked open to the maximum/ mounting position, rather than closed into the lock position.

Thank you for the reply, that's very helpful. I can see now that a TomTom is not going to fit. What seems to be the problem is the curved back to the device. So I've looked at a Garmin Drive 40LM 4.3". This has a flatter back, which may allow it to fit the 68r holder? The dummy of course has no electrical connections, but I think the connector at the rear of the Garmin will fit, without obstruction?
