So I need the adaptor to be able to use blue and me with my iPhone 5?
Yeah I think so as we use a ipod touch in our car and had to buy the adaptor cost us bout 55 quid about a year ago

Ok cool. Where does the adaptor plug in? To the cig lighter?
Its plugs in in the glove box, we had to update the blue and me in the car too to get it to work

Oh cool. How did you update it?
We had to put a memory stick in the pc download the latest version of blue n me from the fiat website, then put the memory stick in the car then it installed it

You don't need the adapter, well, I don't. There's certain things it won't do without the adapter, but it'll play playlists just fine, both via Bluetooth or with USB/lightning cable... I prefer with cable as it charges at the same time.
You may need to update the B&M version though.

I've never had one / used one, so not sure tbh, but I believe it enables full functionality, such as changing artists, playlists, whatever.
I plug mine in, and it immediately switches to 'media' and starts playing from my library. I can use stereo / steering wheel controls to change tracks, etc.
As for using the phone function, the first time you pair it, it'll download your phonebook. You can then make and receive phone calls either using the phone, or using the steering wheel controls, it'll automatically turn off your radio, or the phones media player etc whilst you do this, then resume it afterwards.
I could be wrong, but I think the adapter is only necessary for older cars with the 1st gen Blue & Me.

Depends on the age of the car and as a result the version of B&M as to if you'll need the adapter or not.

Could be v2, but not sure. Try plugging the iPhone cable in and see what happens ? You already updated software, right ?
