Hi
Yesterday my steering wheel buttons worked fine and I could phone and everything was fine, but today the only buttons working were the mute and channel changing buttons on the steering wheel all the other wouldn't respond???

It's ever so odd, so I have tried a update but still no responding!

Has anyone else had this problem, and can someone help please?

Thanks
Stacy

Hi Stacy,
Did you find out what the problem was? Mine has just gone weird, all the steering wheel buttons work except the main control one to get to phone book or answer the phone.
The phone connects ok, but I can't answer it from the button.

Hi

I've now had the same problem, I can't use the main button or the arrow buttons on the wheel to access the phone book or skip tracks. Did either of you find a solution to this problem!?

Many thanks

Hi there, no I haven't sorted it out yet. It's still the main phone button and the blue and me button that are not working for me. I can change channels on the radio and work the volume but not much else.

I wonder if disconnecting the battery for a bit might work, it's recommended for a lot of B&M stuff, but to be honest I've got no idea how to do that.

First thing to check is, have you had battery problems e.g. flat!
Are you getting any random errors showing up on the display?
If you have a flat battery or it's on its way out, you will have problems with the B&M system. New battery + Proxy Alignment will sort most problems.
If battery is OK, rebooting the B&M system should resolve most problems. Easiest way is to remove the -ve (negative) lead from the battery for 30 mins but removing the fuse may also work.
It seems that the ethos of the B&M system is the voice commands, if pressing the "Windows" key/button and saying "help" doesn't do anything, you need to reboot the system!

Thanks Jeffd for your suggestions, but miraculously, my buttons have started to work again.

I'd got to the point where I was thinking I'm really going to have to look under the bonnet and disconnect the battery, but gave the Windows button one last try and it worked. I plugged my USB back in and got music and even made a hands free call.

The only thing I did was to leave the car for a long weekend, and not connect my phone when I got back in as I'd forgotten to turn on Bluetooth after being away, and then this evening, I smashed a chocolate snowman on the bottom of the steering wheel.

So maybe not connecting the phone sorted it out, or bashing the steering wheel, or maybe it just knew how desperate I was to play my Christmas music collection. It wouldn't be Christmas without Slade and Wizzard! Whatever it was, I'm pleased to have it back :)
