I've tried to find out what's causing this issue, to no avail and was curious to see if anyone else was aware of it...

I've just taken ownership of my new Punto GBT and I've managed to pair my HTC One S up to Blue&Me with no issue. I can make and receive calls; all good.

However, whenever I plug the AUX cable into my headphone socket and try and play music through the phone (either using Spotify or the Google Music app), a couple of things happen:

1) The phone seems to register that a headset, and not headphones, have been connected

2) After playing ~5 seconds of music, all the tracks are skipped and the phone starts, frankly, going mental and skipping between tracks.

This only seems to happen when the car is moving - when I'm stopped with the handbrake on, it's all fine.

I've tried a couple of apps from the Play store which, supposedly, force the phone to recognise the AUX input as a headphone, not headset, but these haven't worked.

The issue gets more complex as this doesn't happen at all with my partners Nexus 4 - that works without issue.

Is anyone else aware of this/have a fix in place?

Thanks in advance

Some stray currents maybe which your HTC is interpreting as control signals but can't process? Did you attach the AUX cable yourself? Did you splice it in? Did you earth it?
