...and noticed that voice guidance works over bluetooth. Yep, I kid you not, my music was being interrupted by my phone - it confused the hell out of the B&M unit in some ways, as the developers of the app have obviously fudged it to think that there's a telephone call going on, so at the end of each instruction you'll see 'CALL ENDED' come up on the display.

But it works perfectly in all other respects.

(I refer to the 'new' app that is in competition with the rather lacklustre apple maps app)

Ooh: that's interesting! I use a Bluetooth dongle to interface between my hearing aids and my iPhone 5 (which sits in a cradle, on the dash...) -- very useful for one press on the thing around my neck, invoke Siri, get her (him) to call my other half.... :)

Might give this a try: and see if the sound goes directly to my hearing aids.... (I can get CoPilot to do the same: but it's a bit of a fudge; and not very reliable....)

can you tell me more about the bluetooth dongle? does it work through USB port?
appreciate if you can send me some links :D

It's the Oticon ConnectLine Streamer.

It simply interfaces between anything with Bluetooth output (e.g. a mobile phone) and your Oticon hearing aids -- using a mini-loop system, in effect, dangling around your neck.... (I believe Phonak, etc., do something similar.) You can also buy interfaces for your TV and landline: which convert their output to something the Streamer 'understands'.

Hope this helps....

If it is working with B&M, chances are, any bluetooth audio (telephony) device should work accordingly. I don't think Google wrote the code specifically for B&M!

I should say, I'm referring to my 2011 500 TA with the second generation B&M unit (running the v6.0 firmware).

Your right and wrong. It's not specifically for B&M, but won't allow you to stream music.

OP the app does the same on my bluetooth head unit (which isn't B&M) fooling it to think its a call, and interrupting the music :)

And if you'd read my OP (i.e. I am the OP) you'd have seen I said exactly that. I did not, in any place, say that streaming music was possible ;)
