Hello

Can anyone help - am getting nowhere with the Fiat manual, and my dealer is useless.

I have a TwinAir Lounge, which was previously paired / set up for my old iPhone 3s. I now have a new iPhone 4s - and I can't seem to work out how to pair it.

The manual is telling me to select PAIRING from the SETTINGS menu, and press the SRC/OK button (or MAIN). It should then give me a pin code.

HOWEVER... I can't even find 'PAIRING' on my SETTINGS menu (where the heck is it?!).

Just wondering if the car has already been set with one phone whether it's impossible to reset the system to a new upgraded phone.

Driving me nuts...

Thank you!

This thread will probably end up getting moved to the 'Bluetooth' section and there's a lot of information in there.

Since you have the TA you will have the B&Me 5.5 software already installed. 5.6 is 'out there' but some have had difficulty in upgrading to it.

Iphone4S does supposedly work with 5.5 - haven't tried it - only have a 3Gs

When I had trouble getting my iphone to work with B&Me I ended up disconnectiong the negative terminal of the battery for 5 minutes.

Any B&Me bluetooth settings in the iphone need to be deleted by

Settings
General
Bluetooth
Under Devices you can 'click' on Blue&Me press > and then 'Forget this Device'.

Back into the 500 get into the Pairing section on the setup (Make sure that Bluetooth is 'turned on' on the iphone)
A Pin code will be given

This is entered into the iphone - it will prompt you.

Hopefully this will do it.

:yeahthat:
If that above doesn't work, try this.

Go into the bluetooth settings on your phone, the phone will the be "looking" for a new bluetooth connection.

press the "windows" button on the steering wheel, say settings, then say pairing. The voice will then give the pin number and it will display on your speedo.

enter the pin number on your iphone and all should be good (y)

I've always tried to avoid using the voice control on the B&Me but at one point when it says 'Do you want to transfer your contacts to the B&Me' or something like that I make sure that I say YES distinctly in case it does something else.:)
If you get this far, patience is needed since it can take several minutes to update.

Did this method in seconds this morning in a loan car. Took less than 20 seconds I reckon.

I used to use voice control to dial numbers and it kinda works if you're on your own in the car but if goes wrong and the OH starts laughing when it tries to do something else then you 'give up'. Needs concentration. Compared to voice dictation on the Tom Tom it's poor.

20 seconds - I'd never beat that. (y)

Maybe it was 25?:D

I've always got on fine with miss b&m even back in my old GP days.
One thing that does annoy me though is after saying "call Mel" or whoever, she replies "call Mel now?" of course I say yes in a sarcastic tone but in my head I'm saying "no next week you dozy cow!" :)
Maybe I should try saying 'call Mel now' and see what happens?
