Just picked up an 06 GP sporting and having a problem with my blue and me.
When I click the phone symbol the woman says 'searching for device' then 'try again later' anyone know what's up? Also I plugged my iPod touch into the glove box and newt happens?

Tom.

Hi Tom,

the USB port is just for USB sticks with music on unless you spend around £150 for an Ipod connector thing, I saw one for sale down at Lipscomb dealership.

The waiting for connection means that your not connecting to the bluetooth.

First things first, you need to clear all user data in the menu, look in the blue and me handbook for the menu structure.

Also check that you phone is compatiable, you will need to then start pairing the phone (user paring in the menu), it will say searching for connection, and you will need to find it in your bluetooth on your phone and then type the pairing number when asked.

Depending on phone it will then copy all your numbers across.

As a general rule if your pressing the phone button and its searching for connection you phone is not connected, what I find with my phone is that it works best if the bluetooth on the phone is switched on before you start the car up.

I agree with all that above, except i would add that the best way to keep your phone connected, once you have initally set it up is to keep bluetooth on your phone always on and set your handset to always connect to B&M and then, you never have to remember to switch it on your handset manually

Cheers guys i've managed to pair it up now. Although another issue has now arrised haha. When I try to update the software it starts the update then cuts off after about 10 minutes saying lost GPRS signal. Is there a way to download the update to a USB stick or somthing?

Tom.

The automatic update trough the phone's GPRS connection was a good idea, but it never worked. You can download the latest update from here (click on Blue&Me help button on the right side), follow the instructions to install. Good luck!

Yes i always install the updates by downloading the data onto a USB stick and plugging that into the car and it's worked everytime. The latest update (5.5 - i think?) sorts all the little niggles with the Media Player too so it remembers that last song played. Just make sure you let the car go completley thru the update process and it's simple!
