hi,

I bought my blue&me ipod adaptor today. I plugged my 80 GB iPod Classic to the adaptor and I saw that it hijacked the controls of the iPod. I want to use my iPod controls from the iPod. Is that possible? is there any hack or stuff like that? I have an iPod touch also I have the same result also.

I dont have an answer, but i bet you i'll get quite a few people here agreeing with me that the whole purpose of the adaptor is to help your ipod and blue&me work together + to keep your eyes on the road with the use of the steering wheel controls. You shouldn't be driving and playing with your ipod. It's like driving and using a mobile phone. My suggestion would be to make playlists before you leave home, that way you can be set in advanced.

Unless someone has a better solution?

I wanted the ipod controls to be still available so that a passenger could control the music also. But unfortunately this is not possible. The iPod/iPhone adapter accesses the music library as an external accessory and therefore you lose manual control. A Shame really.

And also, I think the Blue & Me controls for selecting Artists, Tracks etc. are very very distracting as its a very un-user friendly system. I think they have replaced a dangerous 'eyes off the road' distraction with one that is not much safer....
