Hi all, I am on my holidays from alfaowner.com & was hoping you might be able to help me here...

I have an Alfa 159 with B&M, but the sms reader is not installed. Can anyone tell me where to download the update to allow this to work? I have been unable to locate it on the Alfa site. Will a Fiat version work in the Alfa?

If I upgrade to 5.4, will it include the sms reader?

The only way to tell is follw this link http://www.fiat.com/cgi-bin/pbrand....dkicefecejgdfkhdfjh.0&categoryOID=-1073821547 and then check what functions will work with your phone (which you never stated) when you instal the update (there is no difference with the Alfa B&M system).

Thanks for the response, I'm using a Samsung Tocco & Blackberry 8110. Both of which work except for message reading. Have also tried a LG Cookie which works in my brothers Bravo, on all functions.

The menu system doesn't show settings & I've read that I may need to install the sms reader... I'll install 5.4 and see what happens.

The Samsung may work with the message reader but the Blackberry will not.

Thanks Kop32, I've tried installing 5.4 but am getting error 10. SMS reader is not installed on my car - not sure how I will find a fix for this...

Thanks for the link. I now have sms reader installed.
I abandoned the new version 5.4. I installed a language update & then it allowed me to install the sms reader update.

I now feel complete! It sounds so simple after days of pulling my hair out...

Problem is you should have bought a Fiat in the first place....... we all make mistakes
