I'm afraid we don't have a paypal account as a business we tend not to do much trading on ebay so dont really have a use for it. Sorry

The application I mentioned to Sharon on the phone is MediaMonkey , it puts the music onto an iPod normally without renaming the files or messing about with the ID3 tags and then updates the iPod database so it works still. Give it a go , a superb replacement for iTunes that also renames , edits ID3 tags etc.

Just to let you know I would be interested in this as well, I hate having to listen to my memory stick when my iphone is sitting there!

How the hell are Fiat getting away with charging this much for them?! They go to all this effort to make a modern car that isn't iPod compatible (ridiculous move) then they want the owners to pay a stupid price to be able to use the world's most popular mp3 player? They can sod right off.
so do all english fiat stores have the adapter in? or is it certain ones?
I think that we shouldn't attack FIAT re pricing on this one (Depending on what's inside the dongle) but rather Apple.
Apple changed the way their newest generation iPod & thus iPhone handles its storage and functionality with a move to having closed internal storage - due to DRM agreements and piracy plus the fact that its clearly the best Phone OS out there so they just can.
No doubt Apple are levvying quite hefty license charges onto FIAT to even access and use the music stored within Apples designed device.
Im giving 100% fair play points to FIAT this week for the dongle (PS Only £65 delivered if we get 7 names) and for the super quick release of B&M update to deal with this.
If you look at the pricing of other iPod-Iphone-Car solutions e.g. connects2 then this price is comparable if not cheaper. Better still with all the power & fun of B&M thrown in.

As for which Dealers have it and wont your best of getting in touch with a few in your area. Chris@Souls is currently offering the best Pricing at £75 for a one person purchase or a tenner off if we do a 7 way group buy!!
No doubt Stoneacre/Rockingham will start flogging them on ebay over the coming days at just under RRP (Based on other products)
I'm yet to contact Blackburn motor park for a price but doubt we are looking at anything near £65 though feel free to correct me if anyone has bought one yet.

The cost of this adaptor will be for the 'chip' on it that translates how Apple store music on their devices in to standard formats that our cars understand.
FYI , iPods do not store music like USB Keys etc. The files are renamed , stored in a 'bizarre' folder structure and the ID3 tags are changed. This is so that it is near impossible to copy music back from the iPod to your PC. iPhones aren't even in 'Windows Format' but rather Mac instead which never worked with Blue&ME.
This adaptor is 'cheap' if it does as claimed by Fiat as not only will it make windows iPods work 100% (which they didn't before) but will also allow mac iPods and iPhones to work for the first time.

Not sure if it is licensed hardware or not Alex. I sure as hell hope that it is as then Apple would have to keep Fiat 'in the loop' when they update how iPods/iPhones work so that the adaptor kept on working. TBH , if it was an Apple licensed product I would expect to see their damned logo all over it.
Haha, i think thats what im convincing myself of! maybe the dreaded logo or info is plastered in the instructions or something.

I did pop one open earlier and didnt see any apple branding as such.
It did list all the apple products it works with on the manual, I would say I'd have a proper look tomorrow but I'm out of them now and have had to order more from italy!
