hi All,

Had my 500 for a month now. Well my 500 is very much loved but at times the blue and me drives me round the bend. I ask it to call a particular person and then it comes up with a completely different person that sounds completely different from the person I actually wanted...does that make sense?

It drives me round the bend so much so that I am shouting at the car and cursing at it...other drivers think I am mad...plus I am hurting the cars feelings..

can anyone help???

What is the persons name you are trying to call?

I found the same problem with a contact of mine, 'Sean' and I could not get lovely lady to ring him, but I managed to ring his sister, Ashley. I tried many variations, one pronounced 'Seen' - viola, she says 'Sean' and calls him.

I think it's just a case of playing around with a few similar sounding words if you have no luck what so ever with the correct pronunciations.

Yep I agree, abit of a pain but distictly different name tags are the way to go, Blue & Me will struggle to define the differences between Dave, davey and any name that is similar.

Background noise doesnt help, try it as an experiment while your not driving.

yes, I shall have a play. It seems to struggle with 'mum', 'nick' and 'yes'. 'yes' is the most annoying!!!

I can say 'yeah' or 'yeah yeah hommie' (don't ask!) and it'll recognise me without any bother... Maybe it's me Southern accent!

I tend to shout yes you stupid cow, really loud and then it rings. Just saying yes has no affect at all, although it used to. TBH I really hate the whole blue and me thing, its just pants like mobile phones used to be years ago:)

Having spent some of a journey bellowing Yeeeessssssssssssssssssssssssssss! :bang: at the silly Blue&Me Doris I wondered if, with all the talk of updates we could get a show of interest from folks to change or include alternative commands like 'read'?

If enough of us felt it worthwhile maybe one of our friends with Fiat contacts could pass the message on?

I don't have any problems with any other word and, anyone who uses voice communications professionally (radio etc), avoids using the word 'yes'as it just doesn't work reliably with microphones.
