have you both tried re-downloading the actual software from fiat again? there was mention of a beta version on there which grimwau has issues with.

mine installed with my drive formatted to FAT32 rather than FAT, i doubt that would be the issue though.

Hiya, The whole thing is a beta so far. I've downloaded it from Fiat along with the latest Language update. http://www.fiat.it/FIAT_ITALIA/lingueBlueMe/uk4FU0809/uk4FU0809.zip

I wonder if its something to do with different blue n me units and maybe some older ones arent compatible?

im an 56 Plate GPS. 1.9

Reeeto, Ive sorted it.
Some of us are still runing 5.2 software (not sure if this can be updated at the dealers) but

if you open the file (PENDRIVE:\Install.inf) it only has the 5.3 installer.

[Windows Mobile for Automotive 5.3]
Open1 = \iFiat\ED7_R_x_4_EcoDrive-1100_single-install_F.ARM920.CAB

Change it to be like this

[Windows Mobile for Automotive 5.2]
Open1 = \iFiat\ED7_R_x_4_EcoDrive-1100_single-install_F.ARM920.CAB
[Windows Mobile for Automotive 5.3]
Open1 = \iFiat\ED7_R_x_4_EcoDrive-1100_single-install_F.ARM920.CAB

Then go and install.

Once its done turn off the key and then restart the car.
Press Windows and say "ECODRIVE ON"

Mrs Blue will let you know that its on.

Is this something that will come as standard? I plan to order a 500 next weekend, or should I ask the dealer to include it? is it free or am I going to have to bargain with him?

TIA

Hiya,
Its free to download from the Fiat site http://www.fiat.co.uk/ecodrive.

First off you need to Install the program on your PC, and from here it gets you to pop a memory stick in. It then sets up the memory stick and when you plug it in the car the car will load the software and hey presto your done.

Simply keep bringing the memory stick back in and pluging it in the PC, open EcoDrive and have fun.

Alex

You may be able to con the dealer out of a memory stick though to help you out. Watch out as they may not yet of heard of EcoDrive. Mine hadnt today!

eco:Index 37 :eek:
Average Fuel Consumption - 36.6mpg

"Oh dear, you're producing more CO2 than a small country. Take a look at the tutorial, and find out how you can get a little greener."

Oh well at least I enjoy driving like I do :D

Seems it can't be installed to the root file structure of an iPOd....doesn't recognise it. Works perfectly with a memory stick though. Just means i'm going to have to move some of my music onto a stick!

it works fine with my 40gb ipod photo - 4th generation?

formatted as fat32 and 'use as disk mode' enabled in itunes, or whatever that setting is called

I will have to have another look.

Maybe I'm just being dense.

Mine is a new 80gb Ipod Classic in Fat32

Hi, installed ecodrive this morning..all smoothly enough, but...

All of a sudden i cant use any kind of voice commands? cant even answer a call cos noone can hear my voice..almost like the microphone has been switched off?

anyone had this or know how to sort it out, ive deleted the user and re paired the phone...still no luck , anyone know how to roll back the blueme upgrade to pre ecodrive?

thanks all

Ah ive had it plugged into the other one, wonder if that means my 4 days of driving have been in vain???

No, not unless the accumulated time exceeded 8 hours. If so then the oldest data is overwritten. As soon as you plug a compatible stick in it will download all the data to it.

:idea: Not necessarily, although the data can be written to a stick that is being used for playing music I use a cunning plan, ie. All my music USB drives are FAT formatted and consequently DON'T get updated on the move then each night, when I put the car in the garage I plug in a FAT32 USB drive and the days data is downloaded to that.

The main reason I do it this way is because the wife might use 3 or 4 sticks during the day and it saves having to take all of them up yo the computer each night.

Hi,
Its great to see some of you already using ecoDrive! For those of you who dont know the beta version is now available to download from the official fiat website, fiat.co.uk/ecodrive. Hopefully the microsite there will answer some of your questions, if not id be happy to help and answer what i can, just post them either on here or on the forum on the fiat.co.uk website.

Happy ecoDriving!
