I am due an upgrade on my phone contract over the next month and have been looking at an iphone! I was intending on buying an ipod to hook upto the usb port in my GP but never got round to it. As title would suggest i am now looking at an iphone, dose any else have there iphone connected to the usb port? Firstly i know the usb port dosent reconise all mp3 players, etc? But ipod are ok... so dose it work?

Then do you run the usb lead behind the dash to come out around the centre console? If so were do your root the wire and have got it coming out?

now on to the last part, what sort of craddle you use to hold your iphone, im not to keen on something stuck to the window and but have seen these other two on amazon:

not sure how i would get on with the cradle that goes in the cupholder as if o wanted to changes track on the iphone it will involve taking my eyes of the road and i cant change gear when there is a bottle in the cupholders as there so darn small. Any suggestions if you have a different craddle would be appreciated..


then last of all...... battery life, will the iphone die easily or will i need some sort of car charger? See these docking ports on amazon too?

the iphone will not work with the MP3 player on blue and me, other ipods do, the iphone 2g 3g and ipod touch will not work.

I added an AUX in, which I play my new iphone 3g on. It means I cant change the song using the steering wheel but if you had the iphone mounted on the dash you could easily change it.

P.S. the iPhone rocks!

PS. the iphone did rock till they changed the firmware and now all it does is crash

saying that my mate just gave me his old ipod, screen is pretty ****ed but that dont matter when its in the glove box!

Tells me more about the AUX in, was this an adaptor you brought and connect to aux out on the back of the headunit? or was the adaptor home made, you got a photo of it so i can see what i need

its just a phono in not a very good solution as you will have to set the volume and select the tracks on your device! there is a guide i think

You need the fancy fiat kit to get the touch or iphone to work.

Option most people go with (by far cheaper and simpler) is just use a usb memory stick.

It's basically the same reason why Apple Mac and Microsoft software won't work on each other's systems.

All you need is the Fiat I-Pod adapter and to update the Blue and Me to the latest software- job done.

Just stumbled into this forum. Sorry to bump up an old thread but I was wondering if the Blaupunkt aux cable will work on non Blaupunkt stereos. My stereo is unbranded? Sorry I am a bit of a noob. It is a Australian 1.4 turbo punto sports. Havent found much info on how to hook up aux to this stereo I only notice the Blaupunkt how to threads. Is it the same? Havent pulled out the stereo yet so dont really know whats back there (and even if i had pulled it out I still think I wouldnt know whats back there )

So yeh, if anyone out there has any advice it will be greatly appreciated

is it the same as the generic mp3 input thread?

I read somewhere that it is possible, iPhone works with MP3 , Your post is making me confusing. Hope that someone here can clarify this.

Think it all depends on when the car was built. I picked up new Punto thus week and it works fine with my iPhone 4. From what I've read, even older cars are fine if you get the special adapter so don't think you should have any problems. Hope that helps.
