hmm... this one has me stumped

my blue and me works as in, the usb reader plays music and i can make and receive phones calls, however...

i cant actually get any of the voice recognition (ie. when pressing the button no beep to listen to what you have to say) wont work even tho it used to

in order to make a call i have to get my phone and select my contact and call them as if you would when your out and about on your phone but it comes thought the cars speakers (obviously dont do this while driving)

when listening to music via the usb (same pen iv always used) it plays perfect but wont let me change track yet it lets me change track when using a cd (so the buttons arnt broken)

any ideas?

Hiya

Sounds like the system has gotten a little confused and requires a reset (dealer visit) on the plus side it only takes 5-10 mins to do max! but if it turns out to be something more then its gonna take more time but that goes without saying.

Hope this helps (y)

Got exactly the same problem as of yesterday.

The Dealer is a 50 mile round trip so I'd rather not go all the way there just for that.

There must be a way of "resetting" this without having to go to the dealer?

Does Blue and Me have a separate fuse, does anybody know? If so, could I not just pull this out for a few minutes? (rather like rebooting windows)

it does seem strange that you cant reset it, iv tried resetting the stereo seeing if that made any difference, it didnt (n)

there must be a blue and me webpage with updates

an update surely would reset the system and hopefully improve it at the same time?

there seems to be so little support on blue and me its unreal

would disconnecting the battery do anything, or would that be more hassle as it would reset lots of other things?

ah, the answer is in a previous thread:

blue-me/67035-howto-reset-blue-me-media-player.html

Paste the www dot fiatforum dot com slash bit at the start - I'm not allowed to post a url as a new user, apparently

not sure how comfortable I am disconnecting the battery though...

I also fixed it!

There's a separate fuse for Blue and Me in the glove box. Pulled it out for a minute, then pushed it back in.

Wonder how long it will last... :D

I had a job finding it - pages 176 and 180 of the owner handbook explain which one it is (fuse F51, 15 amps), but the diagram shows a different layout to what is in my car. I think the glovebox is different design if you have Blue and Me installed.

Anyhow, if you open the glovebox you'll see the USB socket is on a strip of metal attached at the bottom with a bolt. If you undo the bolt (10mm socket), the strip comes away and the fuses are behind it. It's the third fuse down on the left, but note that the top fuse is just an empty hole. If that makes sense.

It's probably quicker to whip the terminal off the battery under the bonnet, but I felt safer just resetting the Blue and Me.
