Going radio shopping today and of course the first issue I'll run into in replacing my radio is GETTING IT OUT! (The second issue is the adapter plate - but I've got that solved)

Other than going to the dealer, how can I remove the Grundig radio?

It's the original radio from a '98 with the 4 round holes and looks like the first one shown on this page:

Thanks in advance for your help.

easy peasy where ever you go for your new ice they will have the pins to remove or your local halfords, new ice is straight forward as iso connection on fiat is a straight plug in with no adaptors hope this helps

That could be helpful, one small issue, there aren't any Halfords in Berlin - like in Germany. :)

But I'll check my local electronics store. So thanks for that.

So, no other clever do-it-yourself tricks in getting it out, huh?

I used a big screwdriver today to get my unwanted Fiat stereo out, totally butchered it:devil: Then it went straight into the dustbin:)

dlhuss, mine (the same as in the eBay link above, Grundig) came out by sticking two hoops with some sort of retractors into the four holes and simply pulling it out.

Here's another one, Alan. All proper Barchettas should have the original Grundig radio/cassette player in it ;)

I've never seen the OEM Grundig radio cassette but this works for stereos that have two holes at either side.

I cut up a wire coat hanger and bend it into two loops. Push it into the four holes in the front of the stereo and it should pull out.

Hi - following on from the thread about the Grundig stereo, I need to get the Clarion stereo out of my B,. Anyone got any ideas without damaging the unit or the dashboard?
Thanks
Simon

it's the second one listed here:

Did you ever get this out?

I think you need two pieces of metal that slot into either side of the unit. There are two rubber strips on the front that can be removed

And another one, Alan. €21 'Buy It Now' price. Seems like a decent offer (y)

Not yet. :p

My radio got delayed from Amazon so I cancelled the order and picked one up on fleabay.

I'll be trying some of the other recommendations. I don't have the version with the slots, I have the one with the 4 small holes:

I read on a German forum you can even use toothpicks. I'll let you know HOW I got it out WHEN I get it out. :)
