Asked how much to send and do they have the code.

Code What code? Admittedly I have the clarion unit and have never had to enter a code, even after it was taken out to be fixed the radio repair shop

Not yet. :p

I'll be trying some of the other recommendations. I don't have the version with the slots, I have the one with the 4 small holes:

I need to get the Clarion stereo out of my B,. Anyone got any ideas without damaging the unit or the dashboard?

it's the second one listed here:

And this was the second one listed

Wires crossed somewhere

Will wait to see if the toothpicks work.

Did you ever get this out?

I think you need two pieces of metal that slot into either side of the unit. There are two rubber strips on the front that can be removed
Sorry - have been away for a week so no response. stil haven't managed to get the stereo out as yet. tried with a bent coathanger having taken off the rubber strips but felt that i was about to snap it, so stopped. think i might have to go to someone to get it out. any other ideas?

These are the metal plates that you need to remove the Clarion radio with, fortunately I was given these with the car. [Located them again after putting them in a safe place.]

Sounds like you may need to go to a car audio shop if you haven't got anything like this.

Hiya,

While we're on the subject of radios, I have the original, but I've got my iPod casette adapter stuck in it (already - and I've only had the car two days, what am I like?!) - any ideas how to get it out? The eject button is stuck in and won't budge . . .

Also I've got MW but no FM on the radio - any ideas on that either?

Many thanks,

Gill

Use an hammer:D :D
You could try gently but firmly pulling on it:D I mean the wire from the cassette as you push the eject button:eek: Otherwise it may mean pulling it out and stripping it all down to get it out:eek:  Where's Robot when you need him??:D :D

Anyone got more detail on the coathanger trick? Trying to get my stereo out (4-hole stero type). Thought it sounded too easy!

Here you can see the two catches that need to be released with the aforementioned toothpicks or coathanger:
