On the passenger side of the car the water from the 'rain rail' seems to drain into a hole but dosent seem to let as much out of the bottom as what seems to go in the top....

Anybody know where the drain holes go on a barchetta?

I'm worried that they're blocked somewhere and it's draining into the sills!

oh, I was fitting a new rain rail rubber when I noticed this... Its the rubber seal that goes round the back of the lid that covers the hood when it's down. I noticed that over the years of lowering the hood that it was holed in the corners nearest the doors letting water pour into the hood well...

Anyway, 98 quid later!!!!

It's crazy, like one rubbish bit of rubber or 4 tyres for the same money???

(ok, they'd be panda tyres but tyres none the less!)

Hi Guys,

Where does the drain hole from the hood cover rain rail actually send the water?

I can see the water coming out of the rear wheel arch and sill area....does the pipe hide behind the plastic cover and just drain out where you can't see it?

Want to make sure they are clear

Rob.

This is a really bad design fault. I did a lot of welding around that area on both sides, really rusty. The water just ran into the sills. I drilled new holes above the plastic covers, treated the metal and brought the plastic pipes through the new holes. No more water inside the sills. Check the plastic pipes don’t get blocked from time to time. :)

I dread to think how much water is slopping around in mine.

It spent the night outside in the recent mega storm in Italy .

The roof window and door seals couldn't cope with the battering it received.

I was able to scoop out water with a small cup from the little wells behind the seats.:(.....and the seat was wet to sit on for the next 2 days.

I bet it’s under the plastic floor coverings as well, they rust from the inside out, mine did,it was a right mess, lots of welding

Yes indeed ,I had some welding done in 3 places on the floor about this time

last year.

I would REALLY like it to pass the next 3 MOTs without too much drama.

That will take the car to 25yo and the mileage is on course to exceed

150,000miles next year too...currently 141000 recorded.

Worried by this thread, checked the wheel arch drain area, behind the plastic liners, and all perfect..... phew. Under my rubber floor is good, and the inner wheel arches behind the bulkhead too. Look like I've got many years of Barchetta pleasure ahead!
