Hi all,
Silly question but, does anyone know the location of the fuel filter

I have looked in the Barchetta manual and the only filter I can find is in the fuel pump. This does not look like it can be changed without replacing the pump.

I picked up an inline filter from Halfords today and Halfords stocks one for the Barchetta, so I take it the B must have one.

I found it :) ePER shows it on the left side of the car(if looking at the car from the front) by the tank.

(y)

FYI: I did find something I did not know the B had. A charcoal GASOLINE VAPOUR FILTER PN 46842459!! Its under the passenger front wheel arch.

Does this ever need changing ??

I suppose you either love Fiats or they drive you crazy. My Marea has never had an external fuel filter. I still have the one I bought the first time it was due for change. I eventually got the car up on the lift at a mates garage and we went underneath with the lead light, nowhere to be seen! This does matter as the fine grit in petrol wears the injectors and will lose you economy, however so far it does not seem to have resulted in a measurable difference.

If my B does not have a inline fuel filter but has the type thats in the fuel pump. Do you think it would be a problem to just add the inline filter? I dont think I am sold on this never needs changing pump filter. A second filter would help keep any crap out of the injecters for sure. I just dont know if this will make the pump work harder ?

What do we think people ?

It's not a problem at all adding it. It will only make it work harder if it gets clogged up after time and you are not going to let that happpen are you:)

I just had my filter changed, and it's like driving a different car, much better low down torque and a quieter smoother drive (I had the wheel bearing changed at the same time, which probably accounts for the quieter part!)
