Dear All,
I have noticed lately that my B is in desperate need of a front spoiler, and that is not for the looks! passing 150km/h the front becomes very light and steering becomes very light as well! I m sure that adding a front spoiler to push the car down would help a lot, but does anyone know of a spoiler that actually works?

Ok I know this link is a couple of months old, but I've just joined & have been looking through all the threads (partly out of idle curiosity & partly to see if anythings been discussed relevent to things I need to do to my car). Way way back on page 9 or 10 there is a link with a couple of suppliers on it. One of them advertises a front spoiler, although I don't know if it works. Can't see why it wouldn't though. It looks pretty good. Might even get one myself - After I've sorted out my brakes/suspension/windows/stereo/engine/bodywork.....

Anyway, there's the link. See what you think!

Hi guys, my first post too.

I've got a Novitec front spoiler on mine. In fact the full Novitec kit. I know it's frowned upon by the purists but I love it.

I don't know if the spoiler 'works' a such but I've never felt a light front end at speed.

Might not be a downforce issue though. Could be the front suspension has seen better days?

Thanks for the welcome. Here are some pics.

Pathetically, given the nature of this thread, these were taken just after I had last ripped the front spoiler off on a speed hump so it isn't shown.

Once the weather improves I'll be out with the microfibre cloths and Carnauba wax again and I'll take some more now it's got a new spoiler on.

Dear all,
Thank you for the interest and hey!, nice photos!
Well, as far as the spoiler is concerned, I had a test to find out the problem.
I fitted a novitec spoiler in front (even though i didnt like the way it looks) but the test had no result. I still got some instability feeling over 160km/h.
Then I had my shocks checked, they are close to their life limit. The guy suggested I go for KONI sport, but that will set me back 750euros!
After a whole day of wondering and testing with the mechanic, we found out that the front right wheel was... (hmmm, dont know the word in english)..
Anyway, the camber and caster angles were wrong and the toe as well!
we had the car alligned and now all look good! I also got rid of the novitec spoiler, which although I started to like made the front profile to low to go over the ramp on my driveway.
Cheers All!

I still haven't cleaned it as you can see but I did promise some pics of the car complete with front spoiler so here are a couple of recent snaps.

As I've said, not for the purists but I like it.

Heya.

I dont own or havent ever owner a barchetta so might be way off but in a standard cinquecento, at high speeds the car feels very light and sort as if it is wandering etc. much like the symptoms youve described.

Its a simple case of a set of lowering springs :) drop that centre of gravity a bit and it hugs the road at high speeds (y) Might be worth a go, ital look nice too
