Hi Folks

Does anyone have an idea of how much it would cost to re-spray a barchetta.

Just a rough estimate would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Jon

Anything from £500 - £1600

Depends on so many things its hard to give you a better costing.

Remove parts like lights, door handles and lots of other small bits will bring down costs if you do all that work yourself.

Is it going to be the same colour ? If so do you only need a blow over paint job or a back to metal full strip for a new colour?

Dents? lots of them or none ?

Also ask around, a good painter is hard to find.
Make sure the paint it baked on in a paint spray booth.

Hi Doc

Thanks for the reply.

The body work is dent free from what I'm told. It would be a full re-spray.

Just toying with the idea of buying a B of any colour and then the re-spray. The extra nightmare would be the colour coded interior.

Was looking at a green b and phoned the owner today. It is a pearlescent green (resprayed by current owner) and it's really hard to get a handle on the look of it from the pictures. Decent price though 2.995 with 53,000 miles on the clock. Trouble is it's at the other end of the country and would hate to get there and be put off by the paint job.

Hi, dont let the inside paint put you off, the 3 plastic colour panels come off and can be painted. The colour on the inside of the doors can be painted when the outside of the doors are painted in the main respray at little extra cost. That takes care of the inside paintwork.

Problem with changing the colour of a car is you cant paint the engine bay and things like that, so as soon as you pop the bonnet it looks a real mess.

Good luck getting a B, send me some pics when you do and I will put them on mondo.
