Technical Replacement Hood "How to"

The two cables that run allong the side of the roof and an allen grub screw tightens them in place.

I can't remember how they attach to the front of the roof can anyone remind me as one needs replaced. I had a look for the owner the other day and the passenger one has split in the middle.

Alan The front of the wire boden cable is formed into a small loop that affixes to a small hook that's pressed in the front header bar.

Brilliant Instructions replaced my hood for a Mohair one and it looks fantastic

hello,

i have a question now that i saw your antena... all of them have to be electric? mine it's fixed... and with a little spring...

I'd like to add another thanks to Alan.D for this extremely helpful thread. I've just fitted a new mohair hood to mine in 3 hours thanks to this guide.

Some fiddly bits but really not too tricky. Small tip: I think I'd have saved 20 minutes to half an hour if I hadn't glued the strips which loop round the roof frame until the whole thing was fitted. With these glued there's not much flexibility for doing the corners at the rear, by the door. Glue those strips as the very last thing you do - possibly even after a few days for the hood to settle.

It's tight as a drum now but I've got to finish a couple of bits (didn't have a rivet gun) so I'll give it a week to settle before retightening everything and glueing those roof strips again.

Mine came from BAS International in Croydon. It was the best price I could find for mohair (£297 including VAT) and seems to be excellent quality.
