hello from athens greece,

does anyone have placed roll bars behind the seats of the barchetta??i ve seen a few on here in pics and they really look good, plus driving the other day i saw one that had roll-bars on but unfortunately he was on the other side of the highway!!so that was a bumber!!!!!!

i tried the fiat dealer they told me that fiat doesnt make a specific roll bar for this car like mazda mx-5 does, but however in the market they say i can find really good quality ones for a tough penny!!!!!!!

anyone have them on????i think we should all have them it just looks so damn sexxxy!!!!

thanx in advance!!!!!!

hey thanx for the advice nino
and yes i already ordered them from germany!!
i think they look great on the barchetta gives a better look to it(not that it needs a better look)
but they really are something worth getting
thanx

Please can anyone help! I have bought some roll bars from Germany and they did not come with any fixings. I have peeled back the covering and the 2 matching holes are just empty, with no pre-fixed screw to attach to. I have tried unscrewing the panel in front to get to the holes and thread a bolt up but can't!! How do you fix them please? The roll bars are also lower than the top of the headrests when in place, is this correct?

Hi
Take a look at the pic in the link below, I hope this helps a bit

On my B I have two round bolts that are screwed into the flat black bit behind the seats with large black tops on them so you can turn them with you hands. As far as I know all you do is unscrew them, place the bars on the flat edge behind the seats and the screw the bolts back in.

I have just taken a picture of mine, Sorry about the quality of the pic, I only had mt mobile phone cam.

I have a windstop and I as far as I can see I couldnt have roll bars at the same time. The bars are for show only and would not help one bit if the car went over.

I have some pics of Barchetta's that have been over in a crash on Fiat Barchetta mondo blog.

http://fiat-barchetta-mondo.spaces.msn.com/

The Barchetta looks OK (ish) but its something I would not like to try thats for sure.

The thing about crashing a Barchetta is if you have had it lowered, mine is real low and well under most bumpers on other cars. I was shocked by how low the safety bars in the doors are now that the car is running low, any side impact would be well above the internal safety door bars.

So if your going to have a crash in a B, make sure you crash into another B or something real soft !!!

If this puts you off driving a B, get a Volvo !!! ;-) hhhehe

actually theese rollbars dont bolt it were the windstop is..

the man drilled for new holes had to take off all the back cover not just the black surface material but the inside metal part which in order to take off it took like forever cuz other bits and pieces had to come off!!it took forever!!
also it is bolted from under towards the top so u definitely need to go under

Hi all

I used to sell these and agree they are a pain to fit.

1st You need to take of the black cover behind the seats, buy new Black rivit screws.

2nd Take that huge metal sheet off, you have to take the plastic coverings arounf the hood hinges off also.

3rd Buy long enough bolts and washers as the hole are twice the size needed int he body.

4th bolt them in.

Time is 3hrs on average, they are not 100% fit, they do not match up with the seats like the MX5 / BMW Z3 ones.

They fit with some wind stops but look stupid, you can buy from Germany the clear plastic wind stop for the Roll Bars.

If you want parts cheaper look at E-Bay and search on things available to the UK. I used to buy from Germany and sell for 3 times the price in the UK. I was not greedy as the price alwasy started low.

Roll bars at cost inc Shipping £75.
Rear badges £5 each

So look at germany and get some deals. UK people try and rip you off. Know the cost price. Dam I gave away the key!.
