I have a 1998 Barchetta with a broken boot release - I think the cable is intact (I can see it and pull with pliers, and it doesn't want to go anywhere), but I think the boot release mechanism at the boot end may be jammed...

can you get into the boot via the rear seat?sorry i have only had one soft top
if so you can reach through and pop the boot from the inside

Nice idea, only there aren't rear seats - 2 seater with the rear bulkhead right behind the seats!

ah thats what i wondered if they had a hatch or something :O

could be tricky if the release mech wont shift,can only suggest getting leverage on the cable in the hope it pops
