+1 for this. The new ones I got wouldn't have stood a chance of holding the car without those extra spacers. And make sure that piece of string is nice and strong and won't snap when you're pulling through

I am sure I have some paracord somewhere, that should do it

Do I disconnect at the brakes and pull through from inside, or the other way?

I'm pretty sure I tied the string on in the cabin and pulled it through from underneath the car. From memory it's a fairly snug passage and so you can't afford too chunky a knot. I used some parcel string that just snapped and should have gone for something like paracord or dyneema kite line

While I am waiting for the handbrake cables, has anybody ever mixed smooth Hammerite?

I want to paint the top engine cover orange, but you can’t get orange hammerite, but, I have 3/4 tin of red and half a tin of yellow so want to mix them

May be a crazy idea, but I am likely to try it and see how it goes

Never tried mixing hammerite but in the absolutely-completely-comparable field of cake decorating red completely thugs out yellow, so I'd start with the yellow and just add very small amounts of the red at a time to get to the orange. Probably best not to sprinkle it with hundreds-and-thousands while it is still wet

A bit different from most others and if you remember, the history of this car, orange was my brothers favourite colour.

By the way, the orange is red and yellow smooth Hammerite mixed successfully

Approximately 2 parts yellow to one part red

Failed the MoT today

Rear brake imbalance … anybody know how to fix that?
They said the brakes are 65% on one side and 45% on the other, so pretty bad!
Maybe it needs new calipers

Exhaust has a leak in the middle section and lambda reading outside spec after 2nd fast idle

A couple of other advisories, but not worrying about them

Just had a chat with the MoT tester and he says the middle section of the exhaust is leaking.

As far as I know, this is a non standard stainless steel exhaust, so, does that mean I will need to replace the whole thing? If so, can anybody recommend somewhere I can get an exhaust system?

Try Gun Gum paste for a temporary to fairly long lasting repair depending on size of leak. I have a small crack in one of the welds on my Barchetta's exhaust and I'm going to try this.

You could try DTR , I emailed them to see if they wanted any parts of Fabio the FIAT , they said that they have 4 cars to strip and didn't want any of my old stuff but they might have an exhaust that suits yours on one of them or already in stock .

Or you could chop up your rear bumper and buy my special system .

I was thinking about that, but need to have a look first

I think the exhaust on it came from them, so might give them a shout, thanks

New brake calipers now ordered, will take the exhaust off over the weekend and see what is needed

Why isn’t there anything in the service manual about the exhaust?
