Hi all, first of all, if you are reading this in the new year, happy new year, if you are reading in 2020, don't worry it will be over soon!
Now onto business...

My barchetta runs very cold on the dash, under normal running it barely moves the gauge, perhaps an eighth of the way up and stays there. If I leave it stationery or sits in traffic for 5 mins or so, it will gradually climb to half way and then stay there as long as I stand still, set off and it will quickly drop to bottom of gauge again.

The heater in the cab is warm, but certainly not hot, never really generated a lot of heat.

Two questions,

Should I replace the thermostat?
If I do, will this have a positive effect on tickover emissions? The car is definitely running rich, I can smell fuel in the exhaust on tickover, if the engine is not reaching correct temperature, won't the ECU think it's is still cold and oversupply fuel to compensate?

Cheers all, Mark
