Sorry everyone but my beautiful Barchetta is being sold :(
After three years and hundreds and hundreds of hours work,5000 miles driving I’m trading in for a 124 Spider Lusso :D.
16 days to go.

Ah well a new era in Fiat ownership.

Good luck with the new adventures! Tried the 124 spider as a replacement for my Barchetta but it was not for me. :) excellent drive and very good engine, but the feeling just wasn’t there. I went for a Z4 E85 instead, adding the soundtrack of a straight 6 to the mix ?

It's always a bit sad to let go on the likes of these older better looking Fiats of yesteryear, but they do become time consuming & expensive, & lets be truthful, half the time you just don't know what's wrong when things go wrong. :D

Happy trails.

Cheers. Getting on a bit in years to be stuck under a car so hopefully I won’t have much maintenance to do. Quite cheap to insure and run a 124 as well:).
Thanks again.
Ps. I’ll still visit this site every day:)

I'm the same Dave, in my middle sixties, but still like to potter. I've spent thousands on my Coupe, but I can afford it & another benefit is other owners we meet up now & again like the NCS500 great craic, hopefully when/if we get back to anything like normal, we can meet up again.

Once again Happy trails..

PS by the way your beastie looked great in the pictures.

Your B and mine are twins, except yours is properly turned out, wearing its best bib and tucker, and mine looks like it's slept in a hedge!!

I very nearly leased a 124 Abarth last year, but I couldn't bring myself to sell the B (sentimental old fool, me) and I couldn't justify having 2 convertibles in the family (or, to be more accurate, I couldn't justify it to the wife - I was absolutely fine with the idea!)

They drive very well, and you won't be waiting anxiously for the bushes and hoses to crumble. Enjoy it!

Yeah mine too is an LE. 968. I found out yesterday that I can pick the 124 up on Wednesday with the new government guidelines of “ click and collect “ Yippee :D
I would love nothing more than to keep the B but can only justify it in my mind.
Ah well..
The hardest part about getting rid is that it’s in tip top condition. The best it’s been for about 10 years. :(

congrats on your new ride, its an absolutely gorgeous car. Alas Fiat, has pulled out of Canada, again making even the new 124 a dubious choice for some. After owning my 98 for six years , pride of ownership is wearing a little thin with consistent, niggling problems. Enjoy your new car:)
