Due to the cost of repairing the rust under the passengers side footwell, including the jacking point, so being an MOT failure as well as it not being ULEZ compliant, I have sadly decided to get rid of Barchetta. There is a hard top, wind breaker and a luggage rack, all of which can be removed and sold separately, but I will be honest and say they are not in mint condition but functional. Engine is fine, had it running for 20 mins at the weekend.

The thought of scrapping it horrifies me but I currently don't have the time nor inclination to try and rescue it. So, am open to offers for easily removable parts or ideally take it away whole. I am rushing around at the moment, but will try and get some photos up next week.

Do have a couple of replacement parts that I never got around to fitting, a set of pioneer door speakers and leather gearstick cover that I bought from the man in The Netherlands.

:(

Hi, sorry for slow response, very busy at the moment. Will get photos and pricing up early next week, when I can get back to the car.

Sorry, work is getting in the way. Won't be able to post any details until next week.

If you are still getting rid of parts from the car, I could do with the console foglamp switch unit. Could remove it myself if you don't have the time to do it.

OK, with the mayhem that has come from the virus pandemic and the loss of all my work, I have been somewhat distracted. Am now getting some sort of sanity back in my life so can pick up on things, such as dealing with requests for parts of my old Barchetta.

I have a few shots of the hard top and luggage rack. The Hard top needs a little bit of time on the paint work at the edges as well as the internal cloth covering replacing, but the rear heated window does work.

The luggage rack, also needs some attention to make it look pristine, but is functionally fine.

Have photos I can send if you pm me an email address.

£250 for the pair if you collect. Too much hassle to arrange delivery.

Any other bits that can easily be removed are on offer, but shout soon, before I get busy again.

As well as the Pioneer speakers and gear stick leather cover, I also have a couple of Barchetta labelled collarbone protectors that velcro around the seatbelt. Photos of all available on request

Where are you based? If you are nearby/within a feasible driving distance would you have any objections to me swinging by to take a look (following all the usual COVID-19 precautions).

There are a few parts that I'm looking for at the moment. Also keen on the hard-top and wind-stop.

Hiya,

The luggage rack has gone, but the hard top is still available.

The clock is unreadable, in the classic way that all Barchetta clocks go!

I am planing to scrap the car in a couple of weeks time. Just need to get it off the driveway and get some cash in the bank as I don't have much work at the moment.

Being honest, there is quite a bit of work to get it looking in good condition. In terms of getting it through the MOT. Needs a lot of welding on the offside, jacking point has gone as well as the area where the seatbelt is secured. There are a couple of other small issues re headlight alignment and a rear light bulb needs replacing.

Tyres & wheels are OK. Leather seats are worn but not ripped. One of the seats does not tip forward. Rust on both rear wings in the usual spots where the panels are welded together. Some bugger did hit it in a car park, so the front off side wing has scraps in the top coat and the bumper is cracked. Soft top was OK. It has had a hard top on it for the last year. Haven't had a chance to pull up the soft top to check condition.

There is now a leak in the coolant system which would mean stripping out the dash to get to the heat exchanger.

The engine is fine. Started up a couple of days ago, after I charged up a battery to stick in there. There are also a few other small things

There is a lot of work to make this an acceptable car to drive, even if you do the basics to get it through an MOT. Reckon it is now in excess of £2K in terms of time and parts to make it more than just roadworthy.

If you do want it and have the means to transport it, make me an offer or else I will arrange for it to be scrapped in a couple of weeks.

I can send some photos if you want, but it would be later this week.

It does sound like a great deal of work and expensive. I was looking for a project but the rust around the rear wings is a big fix getting it to look right and the rattle can spray never match. Sounds like a new bumper as well. Maybe a bit too much to do it all again. Shame to scrap it.:( Thanks for the info though.
