Done approx 100 miles only this year due to one thing and another. Goes to bed again at the end of October, so hope it goes through with no issues.
Dreaded handbrake which has caused me so many problems in the past seems to be the best it's ever been, did adjust it up last Sunday though in anticipation.
Fingers crossed :) :)

Fantastic! The handbrake on mine has been known to keep me awake, the night before an MOT!

Yeah, me too over the years. Bit of a mystery really, mine has all new parts, including calipers and I have shortened the cables and removed the restrictors to give the rears some work to do, still borderline. Same set up on my Smart Forfour gives me no problems.

Yes the "B" handbrake is not brilliant.

Fortunately ours has never failed. A decent MOT testing station will not fail out of the box. They will try sweating/heating/cleaning the rear brakes on the rollers. After this they should look up true vehicle weight and efficiency figures in their tables OR calculate.

The "B" is SO LIGHT WEIGHT at the rear that the brake proportioning valves applies very little braking to the rear to avoid lock-up. This means that the rear pads and discs do not get the good scrubbing they need.

An option for the "B" owner is to before an MOT purchase a can of brake cleaning fluid (£6 from Halfords) and give the discs and pads a good spray soaking on both sides of the discs. This can be done with the wheels on but do it in the road if you don't want black stains all over your drive.

I've got plenty of experience of poor handbrakes on Italian cars, but bizarrely my barchetta handbrake is really good compared to the other cars in our household (Alfa 159 and VW Scirocco), perhaps the liberal coating of underseal has helped with the cables [emoji16]

As above, I replaced my rear discs all of a few months ago and the new ones have so little to do they already look old......(n)

MOTs are stressful here too ,let's see how much my floorpan has deteriorated this year.
