Hi I have searched various threads but can't find any mention of this. The last time I tried opening the roof, i pulled the little lever to release the tonneau as usual, but it refuses to release open the right/passenger side. I assume something has come loose or broken, but I can't work out how to get at it! I presumable need to open the tonneau - but if I could do that there wouldn't be a problem! Any ideas on how to get the tonneau open without using the lever? Thanks

It could be a broken cable but the release handle would probably feel loose and affect the other side as well. My first guess would be the locking mechanism on the passenger side. As you say, you do need to have the cover open to check this. Try releasing the lever then pushing the end of the cover up and down against the rubber seal and see if this frees it. May be easier to enlist help from a friend to make sure the handle stays in release position. Otherwise, not sure how to get at the lock without damaging the tonneau cover. Good luck!

Thanks, opened it as suggested successfully! It just seemed to be stuck. Added some 3 in 1 and all now seems to be good. Now for the pesky bonnet release...

You should also pay attention to the boot release AND fit a secondary release cable.

If the boot cable breaks then it is a totally sealed compartment (unlike bonnet and hood area) and there is no way in other than cutting metal.

No problem, glad it worked for you. I would endorse S130's advice on the secondary boot release cable Not a difficult job to do and well worth it as insurance against a real problem.
