Hi all,

My auxillary belt tensioner pulley is a bit noisy, so I'm going to change...does anyone know if you have to change the whole tensioner with pulley, or you can just change the pulley on the end?

Mine a '99 without Aircon... looking at eper it seems to be listed as just one part....but that seems unnecessarily expensive if just the bearing has gone

Cheers

Mike

Thanks, the cambelt and water pump were done recently, so I don't need to worry about those for a while....

I advise every one to change the tensioner , there is the tendacy for the auxillary belt be pulled in to the timing belt case , wen it brakes !!
Besides the tensioner it's not so expensive .

Concur.

Generally auxiliary belt tensioners are very reliable. But when the bearing becomes noisy then if the tesioner is a sprung loaded dynamic one (as in the case of the "B") then one is best off replacing the whole assembly. Will be a bolt off/on procedure without the hassle of bearing extraction/removal/replacement.
