Hi all, so now i have two fairly decent headlights, but both are suffering from yellow plastic degradation.. so i have bought a kit to polish them, all good, but does anyone have any experience of polishing the black outer edge of the headlights? I dont want to scratch it with the clear polish so will mask it off. Has anyone spray painted it or used a particular type of polish?

Hi, when I aquired my Barchetta the lights were dull and I was put off buying a polishing kit because they were very expensive at the time. I experimented with various products I had to hand starting with toothpaste (not aggressive enough), Brasso metal polish (good finisher) and found Autosol metal polish paste the best to remove the UV dullness followed by a good car polish.
None of these damaged or marked the black edging on my lights, This was my experience but I can’t guarantee it will work on yours. Hopefully someone else will advise.

Great thanks, when you mention resin polish is there any particular brand you used? Also for anyone else interested, the edges are actually clear and just painted black underneath.
