After battling with a leaking sump for years I bought a used replacement online only to find it was slightly different at the bottom plate but it did fit the engine. Sadly, after fitting we found this one also had a hair-line crack as well. Luckily, some clever alloy welding did the trick but it’s bound to get damaged again because it is so exposed. Which leads me to the question - did the Barchetta ever come with a sump guard and, if not, has anybody ever fabricated or adapted one to fit. Someone suggested trying a Mk II Punto one. Any suggestions?
