Hi all,
I am new to the site having just purchased a '97 Barchetta which has developed the "same problem". I have the correct cables from Gendan and the multiecuscan software and have connected them to the three pin plug. When I connect to the computer before doing anything a DISCONNECTED notice appears in red in the lower screen, when I connect I see DATA ERROR!!!! repeated in the screen, and after I have connected to the correct version of the Barchetta I get "Disconnect the squibs and insert simulation resistors by following the safety instructions!!!!"
Anyone help?

i really don't noo what is the correct version of the air bag software in mes for my car ... i have the old version of MES 2.7r1 i downloaded some time ago and it works fine for my B , in this version shosing "barchetta 16v aspirato" not "cf3" version , then "airbag" , i have 3 options :
in option "trw my97 airbag (with pretensioners) it shows that message to unplug the squibs and mount the simulators that are simple resistors to simulate the real squibs for safety reasons and making impossible to deploy the bags acidently ...
in my case and not being shure of what was my version i tryed out the option "trw my97 airbag (2f-2p-l)" , in this option the warning for mounting the simulators doesn't pop out ??!
i have made conection with airbag ecu made the diagnose , fixed the problem and erased the error code with no problem !
ofcourse i did that on my one risc !
not assuming responssability if it goes wrong with other people.
i have a 2001 barchetta !! airbag ecu is trw 46535343

but have you connected with the airbag ecu? What cables do you have exactly? Could you send the link of the cable model that you bought? My B 1995 trw

can someone give me data on voltages and resistances to be able to check the airbag ecu?

Attached picture of current set-up. A friend did it for me as I am hopeless at anything practical. Does it look o.k.?

There are 3 variants I believe and the 95 probably does not have an OBD connector, there is a connection below the gloce compartment that you can shortcircuit in a specific way to get the error messages removed. I have not tried this and neither has the person who told me about this.

The resistors I believe should be between 2 and 2.2 Ohm (which seems low to me but I fairly recently read this - apparently FIAT used it when a B was prepared for passenger airbag but not fitted with one).
