Technical Alarm and Engine code

Hi guys

Two questions:

I've got an alarm on my B and ideally want it removed. More hassle than it's worth! It has a siren by the battery and a sensor stuck to the windscreen and a sensor stuck just above the engine rev dial. Is this factory fitted or aftermarket? Can it be easily permenantly disabled??

Also

My engine number that's stamped on the engine in no way matches the engine number on my V5. Is this normal or am I looking at it wrong? It's the number on the engine top right as you look at it.

The engine number should be something like 183A1-000 there are variations. Chassis number is under a plastic tab in the passenger footwell.
